Valentin Post

Valentin Post sits on the board of the Foundation's European arm, the Amsterdam Stichting.

He is Director of Growth and Innovation at FINISH Mondial, and was its chief executive from 2019, leading teams in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The work is building sanitation markets that can reach scale, and treating what those systems recover as a resource rather than as waste.

He came to it through finance rather than engineering. He spent fifteen years as finance director of WASTE, where he co-founded and chaired the public private partnerships that took the FINISH approach into India and Kenya, and advised on the guarantee funds behind them.

Before that he spent a decade as a consultant to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, working on industrial pollution, solid waste and wastewater across South and South East Asia and in Nigeria.

He holds an MBA in environmental science from the University of Twente, and master's degrees in development economics and in the history of societies from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
