The People of TWF
Meet the individuals bringing water independence to 1 billion+ people.
What began as an improbable group of systems thinkers finding each other at COP29 grew into a targeted global initiative. We bring together exceptional people who are impatient with the way things are, embrace new ways of systems thinking across the water cycle and along the water tech stack, and have the courage to act.

Our Boards
Our governance structure includes specialised boards that provide strategic oversight, ethical guidance, and expert counsel across all aspects of our mission.
Foundation Board
Strategic governance, mission alignment, and organisational oversight for the foundation.
Investor Board
Investment strategy, portfolio oversight, and financial governance for sustainable returns.
Donor Board
Philanthropic strategy, donor relations, and charitable giving oversight for maximum impact.
Ethics Board
Ensuring ethical practices, responsible innovation, and sustainable impact across all initiatives.
Tech Board
Technology strategy, innovation oversight, and technical governance for our water solutions.
How This Structure Holds Up
Credibility rests on named bodies and stated process rather than on dispersed ownership.
Firewall Between Assessment and Capital
A clear organisational separation between the Institute (assessment) and Boundless (investment) prevents conflicts of interest towards investors and policymakers. Enforced by disclosure and recusal through the Ethics and Independence Committee.
Methodology Signed Off Externally
The Water Scoring methodology will be signed off by the Scientific Advisory Board, staffed from outside the funds, and an assessment touching fund holdings is signed off there rather than by the executive.
Dual Mandates and Declared Interests
Where one person holds seats on both sides of a decision, the overlap is declared and how the case is handled is recorded, maintained by the Ethics and Independence Committee.
Decisions Recorded, Not Informal
Related party decisions are minuted at foundation level and notified to the Ethics and Independence Committee. Final decision rests at foundation level in all cases.

The fellowship is held through the TWF Institute, and its Tech Fellows are the external members of the Technical Due Diligence Circle.
